Our new term began last week with a visit from Rabbi Zvi Solomans.
Miss Mainwaring writes,
He spent time working with each class and gave an inspirational talk sharing some of the beliefs, customs and celebrations that Jewish families follow. He showed the children artefacts, compared Judaism with Christi-anity and re-told some stories from the Bible and the Torah. He was very engaging and it was a privilege to learn more about the religion first hand—we have all benefitted from the experience as a result.
We celebrated World Book Day by sharing our favourite books and dressing up as one of the characters. In this age of technology, it is heart warming to see the amount of pleasure reading can bring to us all.
The costumes looked really good!!
I liked being in my spaceman outfit.
After weeks of planning and hard work, our Forest School sessions have officially started. I have already shared some photographs of the site with you, but thought you would like to see the final ones taken more recently.
Thank you to everyone who made donations for Comic Relief last week. Our contributions will help improve the lives of children, both across the UK and globally; it is vital that children grow up with an awareness of the world around them.
A huge well done to the following children for being in the Gold Book last week:
